I have fooled around with the guitar most of my life but never really knew what I was doing. In three sessions with Jason he has completely opened my eyes. Jason has great fret board insight as well as a unique and extremely effective way to explain music theory. I always thought I would only be a hack on the guitar. I now believe that I can actually become a musician. I highly recommend Jason it has completely change my approach to the instrument. The guy is a total pro!

My husband and I have an 11 year daughter who was anxious to learn an instrument, she chose the bass...we actually let her tell us for a year what she wanted (kids are quick to change a mind). In the search for a teacher/instructor we had something in our train of thought as to what we wanted for her, and of course that is the best. A few bumps with others and then Jason...MIRACLE, new, inventive, clarity of the individual child need and a clear and present knowledge and tremendous skill of his own. Our daughter is alive with a love for the music he makes so simple and fun to learn and most important she wants to practice to impress. No tears for scales, no dread for practice and an excitment for her next lesson. What more could you ask for. Thanks, Jason the Watts family is filled with gratitude.

I have only been taught by Jason for three weeks but I have learned so much. I didn't have any experience on a guitar really, and when my brother and i started taking lessons I wasn't sure what i was getting myself into.. But Jason is a really cool guy and a great teacher. I am glad that i decided to start taking lessons with him.

I've been playing guitar for nearly a decade, and I always thought I didn't need a teacher. However, even though I've been playing for a long time, Jason has opened many musical doors that I thought were not possible. Jason is an excellent musician and most importantly, an amazing teacher. He accurately understands your weaknesses and strengths and teaches accordingly. He is, however, still at your service - if I wanted to practice a particular etude or technique, he is more than happy to veer off the lesson plan and to indulge me. I highly recommend Jason to anyone who is willing to take their guitar playing and musicianship to the next level.

My 11 year old son and I have been taking guitar lessons from Jason for 18 months and we love it! He is very patient with us. We didn't know anything about the guitar and we have learned so much. He let's us pick the songs we want to learn and makes it easy to understand. I would recommend Jason to anyone that wants to learn how to play the guitar.

Jason is a great guitar teacher and helps you focus on whatever you are interested in learning. This is my first time playing guitar and have only taken five lessons with jason so far, and i have learned much more than i would have expected to is this short time. Jason has the ability to teach any level of skill and is very patient. I would reccomend him to anyone interested in taking lessons

Jason Dennis is very respectful, he's one of the most talented musicians I know, very smart and perfect to the tee in what he does. I have never played a instrument before when I was younger, or a kid and recently at the age of 27 picked up the guitar and drums just from listening to Jason's guitar playing! Hey, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks....Jason has a talent and love for music and passion to teach anyone who's willing to learn.

I have not played an instrument for over 40 years and I wanted to start again. For the first time in my life I wanted to play Bass so I went out and bought one. I asked for the name of a teacher and Jason was highly recommended. He responded to my inquiry quickly and I have now been taking bass lessons for three weeks. I am learning not only how to play but also music theory and how it affects everything I learn. I am getting a great balance of scales and actual songs. Jason is very flexable teaching and fworking on different areas as my area of focus varies. He is an acomplished musician but he has extreme patience and he is willing to explain in whatever lever of detail I need. His comming to me also saves me a grewat deal of time. In addition he is a very nice guy.

I appreciate the way Jason keeps me on the task of learning music theory which I need to learn and still allows time in our lesson for improvisation skills which I want to learn...His use of technology also helps our lessons to move at a good space without wasting time...I would recomend Jason to any level of student who wanted to take their guitar playing to the next level. Cheers

My son (11 years old) and I have been taking guitar lessons with Jason for 4 months. We've learned more in the past 4 months than we did in the prior 9 months with our former guitar teacher. Some teachers have a rigid teaching style, but Jason understands that we learn more, and are more motivated to practice, if we're having fun. He accomplishes this by centering the lessons around songs that are fun (for us) to play. He understands music theory and blends this into the lesson nicely (just enough without losing our attention). During each lesson, we work on a specific song AND learn how to progess with "free-style" blues scales/chords. Jason does not waste any time working on repetition during the lesson, rather he focuses on making sure we understand each portion of the lesson in order to practice on our time.

Jason has been teaching my son the guitar for many months now. I took some time to research the best. I am impressed that Jason is a seasoned guitar expert and also is in a band that tours California! My son has advanced quicker than I expected and can perform complicated guitar "moves" already. I am glad my son has Jason as a mentor.

Ive been playing guitar for about 3 years now, but I had gotten my first guitar lessons from Jason on my last year. Haha the first song he taught me was Master of Puppets by Metallica- then a week later I was learning finger-style classical music like Map of The World by Pat Metheny. Then, after Jasons teachings, I got another teacher with a good ear for music, and he said that I sound like Ive been playin for six years! Haha the great part is...that Ive only been playing guitar for 3. Jasons great because he can teach you so much in a short amount of time.

Jason is the best guitar player that I know. He lets you learn whatever music style or song you want to play, such as jazz, classic rock, hard rock, metal, classical, etc. He is much better than some of the other guitar teachers I have seen before. For example, I went with my friend to his guitar lesson just because I was bored, and the guy just taught him musical notes and symbols, which Jason has told me, are for old people. If you want to learn guitar the right way, in the comfort of your own home, you should sign up for Jason Dennis's In Home Guitar Lessons.

My seven year old daughter has been taking lessons from Jason for a little more than a month. He is perceptive to know that, in order to keep a seven year old's attention, she needs to learn songs that she likes, (not baby/beginning songs). Because of Jason's fun teaching style, I predict she will continue to play, not because I "make" her, but because that's what she wants. Thanks Jason!

Jason is an amazing guitar player. He has taught me everything about guitar i need to know. He helps me with anything i need help with, and teaches you the main things about guitar. Best guitar Instructor EVER!!!! I would recommend him to anybody who wants play guitar or advance on their guitar use thanks Jason!!!

Jason is pretty remarkable. Unlike most music teachers, he let's you set the lesson plan, then incorporates important techniques and aspects of the instrument into the song you already wanted to learn. He gets you to progress as a musician without boring you away, which is great because there's no sense in playing guitar if you're not going to enjoy it.
Nicole Renke said:
Jason is an amazing guitar teacher! He will teach you whatever you want to play unlike most music teachers. He's always super fun and encouraging if you are struggling with a song. I highly recommend him for all levels of guitar players. His insane skills are inspiring and I have improved more than I would have ever imagined. THANKS JASON!!

Hey I really wanted to take my time and write an honest and up front review. First off I know that if your seeing this testimonial you have looked up Jason or been referred by someone to him. He is by far an outstanding instructor and that word isn't even doing him justice. I started getting serious about learning guitar after taking a 5 year break and now I am back. The reasons I left guitar in the firts place was it just got so frustrating and the teachers that I had at the time just seemed to frustrate me all the more. Jason has taken the time to break songs down for me I was skeptical about him at first because I thought he was like any other teach but when he showed up with his gear laptop, guitar and his amp I knew he meant business. Many MANY times has he come over and ADHD kicks in and I start yacking at him at 100mph and he takes it all with stride and reminds me that guitar takes patience and to simplify things. Every song that I have hit him up with he teaches me but makes sure and does a review of the prior lesson and addresses any concerns that I may or may not have at the time. This guy is a rock god in my eyes he won't B.S you if you ask his opinion but in the end reminds you no matter what he says that its your decision in the end and he'll make the guitar lesson fun. When I deploy next year I am still wondering how I can smuggle him in my mobility bag. So would I recommend Jason as an instructor yes with only one hesitation one more person that I have to compete with for his time =). Sundays always seem so far away yet when Friday hits I make sure to hit certain aspects of practice a little harder so that I can impress him. I know this guy is gonna be famous one day and I'd like tap his resources and knowledge before he heads to beverly hills and leads the good life as a rock star!!! If you want to know more or compare stories please feel free to hit me up Jason has my # and I will give you a no BS run down. Jason more annoying song requests to come bud =) I might have to make you teach me some country music or something. Scott

When it comes to teaching Guitar, Jason is pure panache ! Blues, Metal, Classical, Flamenco.. just about any style you want to pick up ... he is the man for the job. In less than 6 months, he's helped me work my way around the fretboard playing the Major & Minor Pentatonic up and down the neck linking several scale boxes together. Made it easy to hone skills such as barring, bending, hammer ons, pull offs, tremolo picking etc etc.... while teaching some of the best riffs of Eric Clapton, Black Sabbath, Metallica, and GnR. Jason ROCKS ! I definitely recommend him to guitar students of any level of expertise.

Jason's totally chill. He helps me understand better even if I have difficulties with playing something on the guitar. He doesn't even get angry if he has to repeat something more than twice. He even gives me encouragement when I don't feel like I'm improving at all. I like how he asks for your input in what to play next for your lesson instead of making up a lesson and not asking your opinion about it. He makes learning guitar fun, fresh, and interesting. Did I mention he's totally TRIPLE PRO on the guitar!!! I wish I could shred like that one day. PEACE AND LOVE.

Jason is hands down the best guitar teacher/player I have ever met! He is a master of the guitar and everything that goes along with it. His gnarly shredding continues to impress me. In just one year of lessons I have gotten AT LEAST 100 times better. Keep on rocking Jason!!!

Jason has a style of teaching that keeps you interested from the beginning. He combines knowledge with style and technique, turning something as basic (and potentially boring) as scales, into a fun and satisfying experience.

Jason helped me learn music theory so that, if I wanted, I could just make something up on the spot. He also allowed me to learn some of my favorite songs so I could pick up a guitar and play something that people recognize. All-around great lessons (not to mention the sense of humor). :)-

I really enjoy Jason and I have learned so much so quickly! I am very excited to see how good I get. A few of the songs that I've learned are Back In Black by AC/DC, Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne and a bunch more. I hope that you enjoy it as much as i do! :)

Jason has been my guitar teacher for about two and a half years. He is an awesome teacher and I am learning so many songs so quickly. He has taught me a bunch of well known songs and taught me to write my own songs as well. Jason is very patient when I am struggling with a tough song and sound terrible. I can't wait to see what other songs he will teach me.

Excellent instructor & amazing musician I've been taking lessons from Jason for the past year and 1/2, and the bottom line is this: I've improved tremendously. My goal all along has been to improve my skills to the point where I can really enjoy playing in many different styles, appreciate the music I listen to more and even create my own music. I've succeeded on all three counts, which I wouldn't have been able to do on my own. Jason's musicianship is incredible and I like the diversity - I've learned how to play Metallica, Bach and SRV and everything in between. And he knows his theory. It's a great balance.

Awesome Experience Jason has helped me improve so much within the last couple months. It's amazing how knowledgeable he is about EVERYTHING music related, from theory to how a guitar works. The genres he is fluent in really adds an interesting taste to what I'm able to experience and practice, which makes the process not only more interesting for me but I'm learning so many different styles to choose from. Jason really knows what he's doing and adds fun to the learning experience; a great teacher.

Rockin' the axe! After takin lessons from jason for almost two years, i have learned all types of music. not only does jason teach you the essentials of how to be a good guitar player, but also any song you want to learn, any technique( sweeping, soloing in the box, etc.), and both him and i have a good time rockin out. if you ask jason anything he'll do his best to explain it to you and even show you how to do it. as someone else said in an earlier comment, he does teach andything from as i lay dying to crazy fast classical stuff to metallica and everything in between.

Woahhhh - Jason is great!!!!!! Before I took lessons from Jason I was stuck in a box with my guitar playing skils, I didn't know what else there was to learn. UNTILL!!!! less than a year ago I started lessons with the almighty Jason Dennis and in the first few lessons he helped me open a whole new door of guitar knowledge and got me out of the box. I started to do things I thought were impossible. Now I see the guitar totally different than I use too and i'm sure Jason will keep opening new doors.

Jason OWNS at the GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been taking guitar lessons with Jason for a little less than a year. I just can't explain, how great he is at playing the guitar. I've learned so much from him, I've had 2 other guitar teachers before Jason. Those other guitar teachers, got no chance against Jason. HE IS THE BEST. Let me say that again, HE'S THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had Jason as a teacher for longer than I can remember and I know without him I wouldn't be where I am today. I'm really glad he got this site up and running because I remember talking with him about it just as an idea. The site looks awesome and I can't wait to see it flourish and be able to show people "that's my guitar teacher, look at how he suffers from shreder-itus."

Thank you jason you've taught me so much about playing the guitar and I learned one of my favorite songs back in black!!! YOU ARE AN AWESOME GUITAR TEACHER!!!!!

Great teacher! I've had only three lessons with Jason so far, but already I've learned so much more than I ever could have learned on my own. He explains anything and everything expertly, and if you still don't understand, he will put it in ways so that you do. On top of his outstanding methods of teaching, he is a phenomenal guitarist and is truly masterful at playing any style. We have been focusing mainly on blues; expanding on the pentatonic scale, modes, blues chords, arpeggios (with Eugene's Trick Bag by Steve Vai), improvisation using different modes, and working on two Stevie Ray Vaughan songs: Texas Flood and Lenny. I look forward to our next lesson and can't wait to improve my playing through his teaching. He is the best out there and I strongly recommend anyone interested in learning to play to give him a call. You won't be dissapointed!

Jason rocks After my first 3 lessons, I'm a better guitar player than my friend who's been playing by himself for 6 months. Jason you're an awesome guitar teacher =D. Thanks for teaching me the basics. Now I can make up my own riffs and actually have them sound ok.

Jason is great. Before, I used to take lessons from this really old guy because I thought the lessons were going to be good&I would learn alot. But I really didn't learn anything. It was basically like review for me. But ever since I started guitar lessons with Jason I've learned so much. The guitarpro program makes it easy to learn songs and playing with the program makes me get better too. Jason is a really great teacher, he's easy to understand, &he'll teach you alot. JASON IS THE BEST!:]

Jason knows what he's doing. After only 5 or 6 sessions with Jason I have learned so much! With my previous guitar teacher (who I went to for 6 months) I didn't learn half as much as I know now. Plus, the luxury of having someone come to your house is a great benefit. I feel like I have improved greatly with Jason as my instructor.
